The Smithsonian UK Charitable Trust and the Smithsonian Institution hosted University of Oxford alumni from the Washington DC region at the Smithsonian Castle to celebrate Oxford's #1 national ranking in Times Higher Education magazine.

£4,000 grant to support the Smithsonian UK Charitable Trust Mpala Scholarship, which is awarded to the child of a Mpala Research Centre employee who has achieved the highest mark on the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education national exam and secured a place at a National Secondary School in Kenya.
